Conversions

Scheldepoort is part of the Royal Schelde Company and can therefore make use of the newbuilding knowledge, expertise and facilities. For example:

  • A design and Engineering capacity of 180 people.
  • Steel construction facilities i.e. covered gritblasting, covered section building facilities (production capacity approx. 5000 tonnes per year).
  • Vast experience with both naval and commercial vessels, large and small, steel and aluminium, and fast ferries.

Scheldepoort has over the years built up an impressive track record as far as conversions are concerned. The following examples show the diversity of our experiences to date:

  • Conversion of a non-completed cable laying diving support vessel into an IMR Survey/Flexible pipe-laying vessel.
  • Conversion of a supply sea going tug into a seismic vessel.
  • Conversion of a heavy load carrier into a deep sea fall pipe stone dumper.
  • Conversion of a research vessel into a 2-D seismic vessel.
  • Conversion of a supply ship into a fire fighter class II.
  • Conversion of a container carrier into a cable repair/offshore support vessel.
